BITS AND PIECES II

November gathers fury, crashes
and breaks blue overhead
We can make the few short steps
to the solstice.
Out of the blue, as they say,
the child asks, Do you believe in angels?
Breathe. I'm about to risk that other me.
Which says, I do.
Do you believe in past lives?
Do you believe in God?
Time circles. Where does caution end,
applause begin? I say, Yes.
Aren't new ideas wonderful? In a dangeous
Silent space it scans. He's adding it up--
There may be more than going here, going there
plus doing this and doing that.
He decides to run outside to more pressing matters.
